Police appeal for help in tracking west London looters, robbers and vandals

 

LOOT: A Bvlgari ring that may bring street robbers to justice

Kensington and Chelsea Police are seeking the public's help in arresting a group of youths who went on the rampage across the borough over two nights in August. Majority of the crimes were committed at dusk on 8 and 9 August in Notting Hill, Holland Park and Sloane Square. They are keen to speak to anyone who may have taken photographs of any such incidents.

Monday 8th August 2011

Elgin Crescent, W11- between 5.30pm and 6.00pm approximately 50 youths attacking houses.

Tuesday 9th August 2011

Portobello Road/Blenheim Crescent/Westbourne Park Road/Talbot Road/Colville Terrace, W11 - between 11pm and 2am up to 100 youths attacking premises.

Sloane Street, SW1 - between 11pm and 2am approximately 50 youths attacking premises.

Holland Park Avenue, W11 - between 11pm and 2am a number of youths attacking premises.

Violent disorder and GBH
An 18 year-old male has pleaded guilty to burglary of the Hugo Boss shop, Sloane Square, SW1 following the disorder which took place on Monday 8th August.
Mario Quiassaca of Selden House, Churchill Gardens, SW1 will appear at Wood Green Crown Court on 31/12/11 for sentencing. He also pleaded guilty to violent disorder.
Charlie Burton, 18, of Littleton House, Lupus Street, SW1 has also pleaded guilty to violent disorder at Hugo Boss, Sloane Street, SW1 and will appear at Wood Green Crown Court on 31/12/11.

  • Following the disorder which took place on Monday  8th August 2011 five people have been charged with violent disorder and GBH.
    Two 18 year-olds, two 19 year-olds and a 20 year-old male all from W1O and W11 postcodes have appeared at West London Magistrates Court after being charged on 15th August. They have been remanded in custody until 30/08/11. Also Travis Williams Carter, 20, of Bevington Road, W10 was charged on 19/08/11 with violent disorder and will appear in Court on 5/9/11

  • Robbery and violent disorder
    A 15 year-old schoolboy from Harrow, Middlesexx was charged with robbery and violent disorder on 19/08/11 in relation to the Supersave Supermarket, Westbourne Park Rd.
    He was remanded in custody until Monday 5th September 2011 where he will appear at West London Magistrates Court.

    Burglary
    Four males have been charged with burglary of the high-class jewellery store Theo Fennell, Fulham Road, SW3 following the disorder that took place on Monday 8th August 2011.  
    Nourdine Erreg, 38, from Tonstall Road, Mitcham, Surrey.
    Azariah also known as Andrew Jones, 35, from Battersea Park Road, SW11
    Chad Smith, 35, from Clapham Park Road, SW4
    Lincoln Ebanks, 37, from Zealand House, Denmark Road, SE5 were all charged on 10th August 2011 at West London Magistrates Court.
    They have all been remanded in custody and will re-appear at Court on Wednesday 7th September.

    UPDATE: Detectives investigating disorder in London are releasing an image of a ring seized during a search warrant in the Notting Hill area on Sunday (14 August). The raids followed three nights of looting and theft in Notting Hill by gangs on local premises such as newsagents, off licenses, pubs and restaurants where customers and diners were robbed of personal belongings whilst eating and socialising.

    Premises targeted include the Michelin-starred Ledbury restaurant - where diners were frisked and jewellery forcefully extracted - Bumpkin restaurant and the Walmer Castle pub.Ten people were arrested during the raids. During the search of one address in Powis Terrace, police recovered a Bvlgari ring and are keen to speak to the rightful owner of the valuable item.     Two teenagers believed to have been involved in looting and violent disorder in and around Royal borough of Kensington and Chelsea neighbourhoods on Monday night (8 August) have been arrested today (12 August) during morning raids. The suspects, aged 16 and 17, were arrested in connection with violent disorder, burglary and griveous bodily harm (GBH), at residential addresses in the Pimlico area by officers from Westminster's crime squad.

    The burglary and violent disorder relate to incidents on Monday night in Sloane Square when looters attacked the Hugo Boss store along with a Bureau de Change in Sloane Square. Following on from this, shops including a jewellers in Pimlico Road were also hit. The GBH charge relates to an assault involving a machete that occurred last night (11 August) in Westminster. A search of one of the properties uncovered a machete and a mobile phone containing pictures of Monday night's disorder and images of what appears to be stolen property (jewellery). Both suspects remain in police custody.

    A man has also been arrested on suspicion of burglary in connection with the disorder in Ealing on 8 August. He is currently in custody at a west London police station.
