Brawl MP to appear at West London Court

Scotland Yard has confirmed an MP involved in a bar scuffle at the House of Commons will appear before a west London court next month. It said in a brief statement: "Eric Joyce, aged 51, an MP of Union Street, Bo'ness, West Lothian has been charged with three counts of common assault following an incident within the House of Commons on Wednesday, 22 February.

BBC DG to leave in Autumn

Mark Thompson, BBC Director-General, has announced his imminent departure to staff of the corporation through an open-letter. He intimated he had discussed his decision to leave in the autumn with Lord Patten, BBC Chairman. Posh residents snuff out Shisha cafe

Many parts of bustling Shepherd's Bush are already conspicuous with their novelty Shisha pipes which resemble mini trumpets as patrons suck away contentedly. A new Shepherd's Bush restaurant has however been refused a premises licence after police and residents voiced concerns that its late night opening would lead to crime and disorder in the area.
