QPR's Ferdinand gets bullet in post before FA Cup tie

The simmering row between two west London Barclays Premier League clubs took a sinister turn today after police confirmed QPR defender Anton Ferdinand had been sent a bullet in the post 24 hours before a crunch FA Cup fourth round match. A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "I can confirm we are investigating an allegation of malicious communication received today at Queen's Park Rangers football club.

Police call for witnesses after teen shot in Notting Hill

Police are appealing for information to a shooting incident near St Lukes Road junction with Tavistock Crescent in the heart of Notting Hill. Police were called at 00.35 on Sunday 22 January to reports of a shooting. Police and London Ambulance Service attended to find a 16 year old boy suffering from a gunshot wound to the back. He is currently in a serious condition in hospital.

Officers from the MPS Operation Trident shootings team are investigating the incident.

Four jailed over Theo Fennell riot raid

Four men who broke into the Fulham shop of jeweller to the stars, Theo Fennell have received jail sentences totalling 15 years. The accussed took part in last year's disorder which saw looting and anti-social behaviour across London. Lincoln Ebanks, 38, from Lambeth; Chad Smith, 36, from Lambeth; Azariah (also known as Andrew) Jones, 35, from Wandsworth and Nourdine Erreg, 38, from Mitcham were convicted of burglary.
